Fazley FJA518SB chitarra elettrica Sunburst
evidenza
Descrizione

Thanks very much
Received guitar today very nice and boxed perfectly, plays well and in tune intonation. One small
Biggleswade the two adjustment screws on middle Pick up were up in high position like someone had tried to adjust height of PUP but not left it correctly. Good job I spotted it otherwise could have broken strings! A little bit of quality control maybe . But perfect apart from that. Do you have a wiring diagram for this guitar’s electronics please?
I m wondering if the 3rd position on the PupS top switches can have a phase position added
Thanks
Alan Jones
The finish and looks are excellent. With the cream coloured P90 type pick ups and vintage tremelo it is lovely to look at. It is very heavy though with a thick neck and it took a lot of setting up. I'm not a beginner but barring a F major chord on the first fret was hard work due to the high action that I ended up with. I bought an Outlaw Maverick Basic at the same time (cheaper than this one) which is so much lighter and easier to play in my opinion.
Hot dang. I found this little beauty by chance and decided to treat myself for Christmas. Not disappointed at all. Sounds brilliant, from jangly surf tones to muddy grunge terror. Wonderful. Trem is really good, stays in tune even when you dive it. The setup is great and the choice of string gauge is spot on. Only one tiny bit of "criticism" - the notches in the nut are a tiny bit high, but that's the only thing. Better than guitars I've bought for 4/5 times the price. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice, cheap, sturdy workhorse with character that doesn't look like everyone else's guitar.
You can fix the trem by unscrewing plate and by nipping the end of the bar with grips, push it in until it 'clicks', job done!
Not sure why my previous review got deleted as it was very positive, also I wish bax recognised paragraphs but yeah, blown away by how much I love this guitar, really surprised by it's quality for the price
----Got it expecting just a platform for upgrades but it's much more than that, the p90's sound great and I'm actually going to keep them in, this is my cheapest guitar yet one of my favourite sets of pickups
----They sound beautiful clean, can go from glassy twang to full sounding beautiful bassy cleans but also have a surprising growl under distortion so I've been able to get this guitar to go from smooth jazz and drippy surf guitar to shoegaze to straight up rock, punk, doom and sludge, surprisingly versatile pickups
----The neck is also really nice, got a nice smooth sanded natural wood feel that's nice in my hand and the neck is chunkier than I was expecting which is really nice, beautiful playing neck, also it's a one piece neck, impressive for the price, the fret ends are also quite nicely finished for the price too
----And the fretboard! The brown blackwood is stunning, looks like it belongs on a much more expensive guitar, a nice deep, rich reddish brown fretboard with black ripples of wood grain running up and down it, looks beautiful and feels nice too, can't stop looking at it
----The overall fit and finish of the guitar looks more expensive than it is, I do have one bit of fretboard just above the bridge that's a little sloppily cut but that's nitpicking at this price and everything else is immaculate, again, more expensive guitars I own have had more finish issues than this
----Also the tremolo system, the picture makes it look like it's able to lock in place but it does swing completely loose, it does function fine and that's a matter of personal preference but due to the way it looks in the image I wanted to mention that
---- I also recieved this guitar with perfect action and good intonation, playable straight out of the box, I wouldn't expect a guitar £100 more expensive than this guitar to be set up this well, obviously for any budget guitar that's going to vary and maybe I got lucky but I can only talk for my experience and this guitar had spectacular fit, finish and setup for the price
---- I'm seriously impressed, surprised and surprised how impressed I am, from the sound, to the playability to the setup and look it's exceeded my expectations in pretty much every way and I'll definitely be buying another fazley
Also forgot to mention, the brown blackwood fretboard is gorgeous, nice dark rich red/brown with swirls of black grain all down it, beautiful to look at and looks like it belongs on a guitar of a much higher price
Honestly shocked how much I love this guitar
I got it not expecting too much, hoping for basically just a good base for upgrades but it's actually much more than that
This is the cheapest guitar I own yet has some of my favourite pickups, maybe I just like p90's but these pickups sound great, beautiful cleans but also a nice growl under distortion
Was not expecting to be able to play jazz, surf, shoegaze, punk, doom and sludge metal all on one guitar with p90's they go from easy listening smooth jazz to drippy surf to sabbath to eyehategod effortlessly
Another reason I got this was to finally have a guitar with a trem system but I've been having so much fun with these pickups and neck that I've been too busy messing around to use it all that much despite the fact it functions fine
The neck is c profile, feels nice and chunky and has a very smooth sanded raw wood feel that feels really nice, fret ends are decent, noticeable but not in any way sharp I've had worse on more expensive guitars, for the price? Very well finished
tremolo works enough although loose and swinging not locked in place like the picture, that is down to personal preference but the picture is a little misleading on that
Fit and finish also better then my more expensive ibanez gio, pickguard is cut a little sloppy in one part but everything else looks immaculate, also, action and intonation were completely on point!
I do keep hitting the middle pickup with my pick but that's not so much a fault of this guitar just something that can happen with three pickup guitars so be aware some adjustment in picking placement might be needed and depending on how it affects the tone I might lower the middle pickup
So yeah, maybe I got lucky but I feel like this guitar doesn't make sense for the price, this is better than multiple other more expensive budget guitars I have from big brands, surprisingly versatile and great sounding pickups, really nice neck and great setup
Obviously with budget guitars like this setup and finish is going to be different for everyone, maybe I got lucky, but even so, the bones of this guitar are very good for the price, this is a great platform for modding but for me it was playable and great out of the box, I want to keep the pickups and I'm blown away but how fun it is to play, I don't want to put it down and I would definitely buy more of this house brand
Harley benton you've got something to worry about here
Decided to order this guitar because of its unusual configuration (3x P90s and Jazzmaster floating tremolo). It arrived pretty quickly, and I was pleased to see that it was securely packed.
I was delighted to find that the guitar actually exceeded my expectations. Overall finish is great, the neck is lovely, the fretboard has slightly rolled edges, and there are NO sharp fret-ends - in fact, they're nicely unobtrusive, giving a quality feel.
The guitar was well set up, with a medium action height (which I'll no doubt reduce), a small amount of neck relief, and not far off being in tune. Nut is quite accurately cut - and the trem system WORKS WELL, needing no adjustment (it's similar to a Bigsby, so vibrato is limited, but tuning remains very stable).
The extra switches on the pickguard are somewhat superfluous, but I intend to make good use of them for (for example) selection of added capacitive loading to enable the tonal characteristics of the pickup to be varied. Speaking of which, the highlight feature of the instrument is of course the sound of the P90s, and these do not disappoint - they're great, and offer a best-of-both-worlds alternative to the usual slim single-coils or humbuckers
All in all, I'm very pleased indeed, and I can definitely recommend this guitar!
ordered on a Sunday, arrived the following Sunday morning, outer box almost open, one staple holding, (i think the couriers crab box using the flap, pulling staples open, need to use tape) no damage to guitar, very impressed with it, just lowered action slightly, tuned,, and it played very nice, frets need a polish, fret board dry, got this as a modding platform, for £100.00, cant go wrong, i have guitars that i have paid hundreds of pounds more, that needed a lot more work no nasties with this one, did i get lucky ?. the ad stated 2/3 days delivery ? i think it comes from Holland, so one week delivery is not bad, you can not get through to a human on phone, not good at answering emails, very happy with my purchase.
OVERALL, VERY GOOD, THANKS!
I collect weird and cheap guitars, (as well as a couple of more valuable "proper" instruments) and probably have too many already, so was almost put off the risk of buying this un=-tried, by a couple of negative reviews. I just lacked and wanted a P90 equipped off-set, so took the risk.
When the courier arrived today (quickly sent, thanks), I feared the worst: the outer Bax box had been fastened with 4 big copper staples, which had torn loose, so the box flaps were open. Then, inside the open outer box, the shaped inner cardboard box was not even taped, so the top and bottom parts were separated, and the guitar itself was half out of the inner box, ready to drop onto the floor (had it not been for a good careful Hermes driver). Next, it looked as though the scratch-plate was cracked. So far, so bad.
But, But.....
The scratch-plate was fine - the apparent break was just a wrinkled and clumsily applied self-adhesive cellophane cover that gave the appearance of a crack. Removed the cellophane, and all well, no dings, no damage. But, Bax, not very good packing; so lose one star.
Once tuned/stretched/re-tuned, the guitar was immediately playable, had no sharp fret ends, no buzzes, a straight and true neck, no handling problems. I will polish the frets and oil the fretboard, but,hey..... Plugged it in, found that the three on-off switches on the upper bout are, indeed, as others have said, useless with the 5-way selector installed (though a YouTube review shows an interesting re-wire, and another reviewer here mentions something similar, to give more phase and on/off options - I can't be bothered to mess with it, frankly. But also found that the pickups themselves and (nearly) everything else about the guitar is fine: I am very pleased with the purchase, and for the money it is a fantastic buy. Oh, and the trem: I have had this problem with much more expensive guitars, too, so was not surprised to find that the trem, WHICH WORKS PERFECTLY AND RETURNS TO PITCH btw, slops around loosely with no control on its swinging. In the past I have tried the advice of others, to roll some plumber's PTFE tape around the end of the bar to make it a tighter fit, but this always only last a little while as a fix. Instead, on other guitars and this, I have adopted a ploy of snipping about an inch off the end of a plastic-coated wire bag twist (the one around the supplied cable would work fine) then turn the end into a J-shape so it does not just disappear inside the trem arm mounting hole, and push the arm into the hole jamming the tie in place against the side of the hole. The arm stays put in whatever position I leave it, and the ploy lasts for many hours/days/weeks of playing before it needs repeating.
So overall: relieved, and very pleased with my purchase, thank you.
Aside from the length of time it took to receive the guitar, I am pleased with the quality, I have only changed the strings and replaced the knobs for the volume and tone. This was for the look more than anything else, at some point the nut will be changed to a bone nut but overall there are no real issues with the jazzmaster.
A beautiful-looking guitar, for sure, but very disappointing out of the box and not much better overall after a set-up. The neck was so bowed that the strings were touching the frets, so it was completely unplayable. The electronics have a nasty hum, espcially when turning the volume pot down. The three switches on the top horn are useless, I've no idea what they're supposed to be for. The fretboard and frets were very grubby, looking like the neck had been left out in the open for years, with a build-up of verdigris on the frets and a number of blemishes on the fretboard. One of the poles for the tuneomatic bridge had a blemish at the top, so the bridge wouldn't sit properly on one side and I had to widen the bridge hole to make it fit. All in all, it looks like the guitar was quickly thrown together and has had no quality control at all. I've purchased other budget instruments that have betrayed their price, being much more like instruments at least three times their price tag. This one, no. It definitely reflects the budget price tag and, considering how much the quality of budget guitars has improved in recent years, this one harked back more to the bad old days.
The few good points: It sounds lovely. Now that I have adjusted the neck and fixed the bridge so that I have been able to lower the action properly, it is playable and has a lovely tone from the pickups. Unfortunately, the action, at its lowest point is still too high and the guitar would have benefited from a recessed bridge. Still, it is playable it actually retains its tuning well (unless you use the trem, which you shouldn't - it's useless). The machine heads aren't great, but I'm suprised that, so far, there are no tuning or intonation issues with the guitar.
Now that I have fixed the neck bowing, fixed the bridge, lowered the action, polished the frets and cleaned up the fretboard, I'm left with a playable guitar that sounds nice, looks amazing and will give me an additional tone pallet for recording. Would I play live with it? No, not yet. Once I have the electronics fixed then maybe I'll take it along as a second or third guitar, but no way would I use this as my main in any situation. Even for just sitting at home and noodling around, I have other guitars that I would pick up before this one.
No matter what the price, I don't expect any guitar to be perfect out of the box. You usually have to make at least some adjustments to the set-up. But the build quality of this one is just shoddy. There's no way it should have made it out of the factory as it is and it shouldn't be up to the customer to fix poor workmanship, no matter the price of the instrument. For someone like myself who has the experience, the required fixes are straightforward enough, but for someone who doesn't know what they're doing and needs a good quality, budget guitar, don't pick this one. Go for something like a Shine where you'll get a far superior, much better-built instrument that will serve great for learning and for performance. This Fazley? Well, for me, I just took a punt as I had an Amazon gift voucher, so I ended up only paying a few quid out of my own pocket, so I don't feel too disappointed. But Even for just over £100, there are far superior guitars out there. Once I've fixed the electronics and perhaps taken it to a luthier for a pro set-up, it'll be a satisfactory instrument, but I would have felt disappointed at the state it came in if I had paid full-price, even considering how cheap it is.
Nice guitar for the price. Feels solid and looks great. It was ready to play out of the box, which was unusual for any guitar. Would suit a beginner, or anyone who wants to add a cool looking guitar to their collection. This is a range of guitars worth checking out!
Toch 4 sterren vanwege prijs/kwaliteit
The guitar was sent quickly and well packaged. It’s a great guitar, easy to play thanks to a good set up. It was easy to tune and almost playable straight out the box The sound is powerful and diverse. The only minor criticism would be the slight buzz on the low E string but this is the only criticism for a guitar sold as a B stock item. I’m sure that a bit of fret polishing will deal with the problem of the buzz. Frankly for the price the guitar is great and as others, who have written reviews, have said, I bought the guitar with the idea of working on it but now will probably not change anything. Overall it was a great purchase - I’ll now tell others to keep an eye out for “Fazley” branded guitars.
Beetje slordig.
Fazley Classic series (Bax-Shop) Review

I've got one B-stock, nice guitar, but take care, the three switches are better used to put out of phase MB and MN pickups, I modified in this way the circuit and it's great! in fact the switches have already 6 pins each and I guess were intended for this porpouse. It's not a difficult job, and you can add many other sounds to this nice guitar! Try it, on the web there are thousands of schemes ready for 3 picks and 5 position switch to use out of phase option!
The neck action and curvature were ok, I had to enlarge the bay of tremolo mechanics, which interferred with hole walls, but, memo, my guitar was just a b-stock. With a bit of workaround, now I can play a quite good instrument, with a nice shape and P90 pickups type and sounds combinations.
